The Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who will ship production features on the full-stack platform that underpins VectorOne deployments. You will work inside a backend-for-frontend architecture (no microservices) and write clear, secure, high-performance code. You will keep the supply chain lean—removing unnecessary dependencies and solving shallow problems directly in the codebase.

You will learn how to balance AI coding tools with sustainable engineering practices. You will build on the systems the senior engineers define—design system components, feature endpoints, and CI/CD checks—and you will carry their standards forward in your own work.

Above all, you will optimize for the problems we have, not the ones we might have someday. You will document the trade-offs we make for outcomes over abstractions, know how they will change later, and never give an inch when prioritizing outcomes over engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Implement feature slices end-to-end in the BFF: routes, schemas, validation, caching, error handling, and components.
• Build and maintain the design and code generation systems.
• Write meaningful tests (correct, complete, demonstrable, readable, durable) and shift-left.
• Observability and monitoring: error logging, distributed tracing, alerts, and dashboards.
• Handle security at the feature level: scoped function executions, sanitize inputs, manage secrets safely, and pin dependencies!
• Contribute to CI/CD system: balance testing with devilry speed, speed up builds, and add static analysis checks that prevent regressions. Do not over-optimize in ways that slow down developers with little gain.
• Reduce dependency bloat: replace heavy libraries with simpler, native solutions when the problem is shallow.

What We’re Looking For

• 1-3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong in at least one language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Curious, eager to learn, comfortable with ambiguity.
• Bonus: exposure to AI/ML systems.
