The Role
We’re looking for a Director of Product/Principal Accounting Expert with deep technical expertise in the Technology space to lead the development of VectorOne’s agentic technology accounting and finance workforce. This individual will provide the foundational subject matter expertise essential to the product and will work hand in hand with the engineering team to design the best agentic accounting tool the world has ever seen. This is a senior, high-impact role that balances strategy with execution.
What You’ll Do
- Be the primary accounting subject matter expert guiding the design, development, and validation of an AI-based accounting platform designed for the financial services industry.
- Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to translate accounting processes into AI-driven features and workflows.
- Define business requirements, compliance considerations, and industry-specific nuances.
- Review and validate product outputs to ensure completeness, accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance.
- Collaborate with customers to identify pain points, shape the solution roadmap, and design customizations.
What We’re Looking For
- CPA or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in the technology industry - previous controller experience a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of all technology monthly accounting cycle processes including required inputs and outputs.
- Comfortable and confident acting in the subject matter expert role for technology.
- Fundamental understanding of how technology ERPs work.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Technology forward with a desire to upskill in the world of AI - previous technology certifications or experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other tech tools a plus.
- Comfortable shaping strategy in ambiguous environments while driving execution.
- Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and business teams with clarity.
