The Role
We’re looking for a Data Engineer who will build and maintain the data pipelines that power VectorOne. You will turn messy, raw inputs into clean datasets. You will write code that is clear, well tested, and secure, and you will enforce the quality standards defined by the Senior Data Engineer.
You will apply data engineering fundamentals every day: schema design, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring. You will implement reusable transformations using the libraries and patterns defined by the Senior Data Engineer, and contribute improvements as you learn. You will master both small data tools like Pandas, Polars, and DuckDB, as well as distributed engines like Spark. You will never stop learning.
Above all, you will optimize for the problems we have today, not the ones we might have tomorrow. You will document the trade-offs, know how to change them later, and never sacrifice business outcomes for abstractions.
What You’ll Do
- Build and monitor ETL/ELT workflows.
- Model and clean messy operational data.
- Support product/AI teams by delivering usable datasets.
- Learn and grow into data architecture and platform strategy.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-3+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Proficient SQL + Python skills.
- Exposure to modern data stacks (Snowflake, Spark, dbt).
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and scrappy problem solving.
